THE CHALLENGE AT HAND
At the beginning of the project, it was immediately clear that Thomas Thor Associates and Key Source Global were not aligned. We saw cultural confusion between teams based in Europe and those in North America. For some it was a resistance to change, for others change couldn't come fast enough. While the brief was to redesign the brand(s), our challenge was to win the hearts and minds of the entire team.
A DESIGN-LED AND STRATEGIC SOLUTION
FireBelly took the leadership team on a strategic journey, opening up debate on company positioning, the value proposition and key company messages. During these workshops we introduced highly visual design concepts to demonstrate how the ambition of the strategy can inspire a design system. While this approach remained primarily conceptual, it provided the key stakeholders excitement and inspiration about how the brand could evolve.
The brand identity for Thomas Thor experienced a complete rebrand with revitalised logo and colour palette, and Key Source Global underwent a renaming process that lifted it to align with Thomas Thor, whilst retaining a sense of autonomy. The end result for both brands was a huge success with staff and clients. It demonstrated two companies that represent:

Future proofing the energy sector
Transformation is possible
Imagery, photography and patterns played a significant role in shaping the brand identities. Both brands followed a similar design system, however by swapping out colours, image styles and graphic elements we were able to create two distinct brands that act wonderfully as brother and sister.
